Q: Where can I find the leaderboard?
A: The main leaderboard can be found on the home page. It’ll be live beginning June 11.
Q: Where will the results be posted?
A: All results will be updated daily on the leaderboard, available at medford2medford.com beginning June 11. You will also receive an email with your results immediately following your completion of your chosen distance.
Q. Is fundraising mandatory?
A: No, it’s not mandatory.
Q: How long do I have to finish?
A: The event officially opens June 11, exactly 42 years after Dave McGillivray left Medford, OR. The event ceremonially ends August 29, when Dave returned to Medford, MA, but we’ll still help you continue to track your mileage until November 17.
Q: What if my team and I don’t finish the distance we signed up for?
A: Don’t worry, you’ll still receive all the goodies for whatever pack you signed up for.
Q: Why should I run this virtual event?
A; When the endurance industry saw event after event canceled in the name of public health and safety, virtual events began popping up. Virtual road races of all distances are giving self-isolated people a reason to get out the door and be active. So why register for the M2M? Because DMSE Sports knows road racing. We know what motivates athletes, we know the technology needed to create a robust experience, and we know how they deserve to be rewarded. For nearly 40 years, DMSE Sports, under the leadership of Dave McGillivray, has been a leader in sports event management, specializing in creating and producing mass participatory athletic events throughout the U.S. and abroad. Simply put, this is what we do.

Tracking Miles
Q: Where do I track my miles?
A: After registering, you will receive an email from sender “donotreply@mg.resport.io” with one of two subject lines, “Teammate Instructions: Medford2Medford” or “Captain Instructions: Medford2Medford.” (If you are a captain, you will receive both of these emails, and you may log your miles at either link included in the emails.) This email includes a link to your personal tracking page. Be sure to bookmark it! It can take up to 24 hours after registering to receive this email. If you don’t receive your email after 24 hours, check your spam folder, and then reach out to us at info@dmsesports.com.
Q: How do I track my miles?
A: There are two ways to track your miles. The first and easiest is to run with a GPS-enabled watch or phone and use Strava to track your workout. You can link your Strava account to your personal activity log page and simply select which workout you’d like to import. The other option is to manually track your miles and record them directly into your personal activity log page. If inputting miles manually, you may still add your mileage to the tracking system as often as you need. You will also be able to keep track of your run v. walk v. bike mileage.
Q: Which fitness tracking apps are supported?
A: As of right now, Strava is the only fitness tracking app that is supported. It is free to use and easy to link to the M2M system. We are currently exploring integration with other tracking apps as well.
Q: Do I need to use Strava to track my mileage?
A: No, you do not need to use Strava, but it is the most convenient method since you can link your Strava account to your personal activity log page. You also have the choice to manually add mileage to the tracking system using the upload feature.
Q: Shoot, I forgot to add my miles from yesterday. Am I able to still count those?
A: Of course! Every mile still counts, so if you forgot to log your mileage yesterday, just upload them today. Whether you have linked your Strava account to the M2M tracking system or prefer to upload your miles manually, you are able to add mileage to the tracking system as often as you need.
Q: I like to put in some miles in the morning and evening—will both workouts count toward my distance?
A: Yes, both workouts count toward your total. If you use the automated upload feature with Strava each effort will be entered individually. If you prefer to use a different system to track your miles, simply input your miles manually as often as you need by using the upload feature in the tracking system.
Q: I’ve logged a couple of workouts. On my screen it shows the correct dates of the runs, but on our team page it shows up as being a day off. Is this OK?
A: Yes, it’s OK. This can happen if your computer’s internal time clock is off, or if you enter your mileage from a different time zone than the rest of your team. Nothing to be concerned about.
Do It Again
Q: I’m done with my Medford2Medford challenge. Can I do it again?
A: Yes! You have two options:
You can continue logging miles on your tracking pages. Your pages will remain open until November 17, and you're welcome to continue adding miles to your total. But, because you've completed your challenge, you won't see your marker move on the map.
OR
You can Do It Again! Available only to finishers of any of the M2M distances, you can register for the Do It Again challenge—this gives you continued access to our tracking and mapping tool, and we'll transfer any extra miles you accrued in your first challenge to your second. Look in your inbox for an email from us with the access code for registering.
Q: I’m signed up for the M2M Do It Again! challenge. I logged some extra miles after finishing my first run to Medford, so I’m transferring in miles to my second challenge. I don’t see the miles on the leaderboard, though. Did they transfer?
A: Yes, your miles transferred. Until you log your first activity for Do It Again, you’ll only see those transferred miles on your tracking page. After you log your first activity, you will see all your accumulated miles on the leaderboard.
